SIRKKA L. JARVENPAA Sirkka L. Jarvenpaa is the Bayless/Rauscher Pierce Refsner Chair in Business Administration at the University of Texas at Austin. In August 1999, she co-founded and now serves as Co-director of the Center for Business, Technology and Law at the College and Graduate School of Business, University of Texas at Austin.  In addition, she is a Track Leader in the cross-functional Center for Customer Insight.  She was the holder of the distinguished Marvin Bower Fellowship at Harvard Business School in the calendar year of 1994. She has been a recipient of several paper awards including two Society of Information Management (SIM) paper awards and the Management Information Systems Quarterly Best Paper award.  Dr. Jarvenpaa has served as the senior editor for MIS Quarterly and an associate editor for the following journals: Management Science, MIS Quarterly, and Database. She is currently an associate editor for Information Systems Research, International Journal of Electronic Commerce, Journal of Information Technology Management, ACM Transactions on Human Computer Interaction, Internet Research, and Journal of Computer-Mediated Communication.  She served as a Vice President for the Association of Information Systems (AIS) in 1995 and 1996.  She has served in many chair roles (program, Ph.D. consortium, planning) for the International Conference on Information Systems, the largest and most prestigious conference in her field.
